Review Of Debbie S.

I have been in nursing for more than 30 years. I started my career as a nursing assistant in 1985. After graduating from high school I attended the practical nursing program, completed my RN program, obtained a Bachelor’s degree (BSN), and finally my Master’s degree (MSN). I have worked in long term care for more than 30 years. As LPN and Nursing Assistant providing and assisting with direct patient care was one of my job duties. Residents and patients were transferred in several different manners including assistance of one person, assist of two people or by a mechanical lift.
As care providers it is our job to encourage our residents to function at his or her highest level of functioning. Transferring with two people or a mechanical lift does not promote that philosophy. For many residents who live in long term care facilities losing their independence is devastating. Placing a resident in a mechanical lift can be a very scary because the resident has absolutely no control over the transfer and he or she is putting 100% trust in the individual who is completing the transfer.
The physical labor of a nursing assistant and nurse can put a lot of stress on the back. Injuries occur because of the same repetitive movements or by using short cuts. After entering nursing administration in the early 2000’s I became very aware of the cost of these injuries in Worker’s Compensation claims.
I recently had the opportunity to see the Walker Go Round in action. I was in complete awe in the presentation of this piece of equipment and how it works. The Walker Go Round is not just needed in long term care. This assistive device would be beneficial in the hospital setting, home care setting, pediatric care, and rehabilitation hospitals.
The Walker Go Round will promote the independence of those individuals who are desperate to gain independence as well as maintain independence. The Walker Go Round is also a god send for the direct care providers because residents/patients are able to support some of their own weight therefore decreasing, limiting injuries to health care providers.

I am very happy to endorse this product and highly recommend it. This product is something that has been needed in health care for a very long time. The possibilities for this product are endless and it will help preserve the vision of having our patients, residents, and family members continue to function at their highest practical level of functioning.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at email address or phone number that has been provided. I am very excited for the development of this product and I am very hopeful that it can be manufactured to make a difference for our patients, resident’s and loved ones. I am the Director of Nursing in a long term care facility and would love to have this product in my facility for those residents who would benefit from it.

With Sincere Regards,
Debbie S.
